Hot styling tools and chemical treatments might give you pin-straight hair… but at what cost? Forget your flat iron, curling wand, breakage and split ends. You don’t need to sacrifice your hair’s health to create a sleek straight style. Let’s get it straight the natural way, with these heat and damage-free methods. Give them a try and see which works best for you!

Use the right products

To make styling easier, prep your hair with a nourishing shampoo and conditioner designed for straight hair – as these will help smooth your hair’s cuticle. Try TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Anti Frizz Shampoo to transform your dry strands into sleek and nourished hair. Combine it with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Anti Frizz Conditioner, which is specially designed to fight frizz, boost shine and tame flyaways.

Since you won’t be using any hot styling tools, the products that you choose are crucial to help you keep it sleek and chic. So, when you step out of the shower, spray TRESemmé Pro Pure Detangle & Smooth Leave-in Conditioner to hydrate your strands, reduce frizz and detangle your hair quickly and easily.

Straighten your hair with jumbo rollers

It might sound contradictory, but you can straighten your hair with rollers! Give your hair some time to air-dry and while it’s still damp use your biggest plastic rollers. Foam and Velcro rollers will work too, but won’t give you the same smooth effect. Grab a medium section of hair, wrap it flat against the roller and secure it with a bobby pin. Remember to try and keep the tension even as you roll. For a voluminous look that moves, try to place the rollers at the crown to lift the roots. Don’t hesitate to experiment with the size of rollers to give your hair some serious bounce and flow. Looking for long-lasting hold? Remember to remove your rollers when your hair is completely dry.

Wrap your hair around your head

Part your hair in the middle. Grab a section, comb it through and tightly wrap it around your head. Secure with a large bobby pin and follow the same technique, wrapping your hair around your head, until all of it is up. Finally, wrap your hair with a silk or satin scarf to keep your strands in place overnight. In the morning, remove the scarf and bobby pins to reveal your heatless straight hair!

Keep combing your hair until it’s dry

If you’ve got naturally wavy hair, you might be able to straighten it with a traditional comb. Before trying this technique, apply TRESemmé Beauty-Full Strengthening Leave-In Treatment to make your hair easier to manage and style. Then part it and comb it straight. Use your hands to pull it tight and take a ten-minute break to let it air-dry. Grab your comb and start combing it again. Repeat the same process; keep combing every five to 10 minutes until it’s completely dry. This method won’t give you much lift at the root, but you’ll get a nice natural finish. To add texture, try using TRESemmé Dry Texture Finishing Mist.
